 For the next couple of days, we just hung the campground or went out for lunch as the weather was not so good. I took this photo as we were leaving Cluxewe campground. Can you see the cruise ship? It's right in the middle. I digitally zoomed in on the computer for this.   Then it was off to Elk Falls PP for four nights. Unfortunately the cell service was dismal, so no posts till now.  Years ago, we stayed here and wanted to hike to the falls. Unfortunately, they were working on the access and the trail was closed. So one of our goals was to see the falls, no access problems this year. A nice hike to the falls. The weather for the hike was great, unlike the rest our days there, rain. We visited with Dawn and John, friends that moved to Campbell River over twenty years ago. It was nice to see them after all these years. Wed. we caught the ferry from Comox to Powell River. A very rough ride, Pat was a little green around the gills but made it without incident. Back to Salte...

Holberg Sept. 23rd - 25th

 Not much going on on the 23rd, Pat and Kelly serviced Pat's sewing machine and then Pat and I went into Port Hardy for some shopping.  Holberg was our destination for the 24th, which is on the way to Cape Scott. We all decided to brave the 79k of gravel roads and go there for lunch. The Scarlet Ibis, Vancouver Islands most remote pub, looked interesting. Their web site said they were open at 1:00pm, the note on their door said 3:00pm. We got there about 12:30pm, we weren't going to wait around till they opened, so that was a no. It took us about 5 minutes to explored the whole town but absolutely nothing was open, including an outhouse. As the gravel road was very rough and we were getting hungry, it was decided to head back. Still it was a nice drive and we are glad we went. Some great views. Cluxewe RV Resort Sept. 17th - 22nd

 A couple of photos from Miracle Beach, a nice campground, close to shopping. North to Cluxewe RV Park. It took us about three hours, as the road is very rough in places. Found our campsite and got set up. Dave and Kelly had arrive shortly before us and were ready to party, lol.  Malcolm Island across the bay from our campsite. The four of us headed off to Port McNeill for a look see. Nice town, very neat and tidy. Just getting the lay of the land, we will be back.  Worlds largest burl? Looks like someone tried to burn it.  Saturday we went to the Coal Harbour Museum. It has a lot of local history, we are very glad we made it to this one. Dave flew for Minstrel Air in this area in the 80's so it brought back a lot of memories for him. Saltery Bay Sept. 13th - 17th

 Nice ferry ride over to Saltery Bay from Earls Cove, as usual, took a couple of pictures up Jervis Inlet. Found a campsite at Saltery Bay PP and got set up. We were surprised how full the campground was but then most everyone left on Monday.We went for a walk and spotted these mushrooms. Very colourful. Maybe someone can let me know what they are, Vikki? Mermaid Cove was our next hike, a little info from the internet.  Mermaid Cove is a very poplar destination for scuba divers because of the 10 ft. bronze mermaid sculpture designed by Simon Morris that was sunk off its shores at a depth of 20 m (50 feet). We had invited Pat's sibs out for dinner on Sunday, of course that's the only day it rained. It did clear up early afternoon and we had a nice supper get together. Shopping and hanging out at the camp site Mon. and Tue. Today we caught the ferry to the Island. Found a site at Miracle Beach and are all set up. North Vancouver Island 2025

 We are taking a short trip the the North end of Vancouver Island for the next three weeks or so. Saturday, we will be taking the ferry to Powell River and stay at Saltery Bay PP. till Wednesday. At that time we board the Comox ferry to the Island. Not sure what cell service we will get, so I will post when I can. On a side note, I thought I would plant Sunflowers for kicks, they are over ten feet tall. The seeds look like they are to small too bother with. Recent visitors in our yard. See you soon.
